2009 - 2010 Event Details
The Space Derby is similar to the pine wood derby – each scout receives a block of wood that will create the body of the rocket. The boys can paint and add plastic fins to their rocket. A wound rubber band will launch the rockets at the outdoor event. Prizes/awards can be given for speed, endurance, altitude etc.
Responsibilities include:
• Schedule date and venue.
• Distribute space derby kits to scouts
• Plan race area/track
• Purchase trophies and awards
• Facilitate event
