Text Box: Welcome to the Pack 56 News Page Text Box:     12/28/2010 Happy New Year! Hopefully, everyone is working on their Pinewood Derby cars. The dates on the distributed rules were incorrect. The check-in is the evening of January 24, 2011 in the Dixon cafeteria. Remember, there is no school that day. The race will be the evening of Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 6:00pm. Check out the full set of rules here. 12/6/2010 Tonight is our monthly Adult meeting. We will be discussing the direction of the pack as well as upcoming events. View the agenda. 10/18/2010 A big thank you to Dave Ellis! Dave has agreed to become the new Cubmaster for Pack 56. Dave has been a Den leader for 3 years. He would have liked to stay in that capacity, but was willing to fill the desperate need for Pack leadership. Dave and the rest of leaders will be reaching out individually to other parents to share the responsibility associated with keeping this organization moving forward. Also, thanks to Steve Morateck for filling Dave’s shoes at Co-leader for Den 6! 10/5/2010 Emergency Adult Meeting - Dixon Conference Room, 6:30p TONIGHT We need as many adults to attend as possible (no children, please) The future of the Pack is going to depend on our ability to get more parents involved even in small ways. Your assistance will be necessary to ensure that we can continue to provide this high quality program. 9/24/2010: Pack Meeting—Cancelled There was a tentative pack meeting that was scheduled for 9/29/2010. It has been cancelled. Repeated calls for adult volunteers have gone unanswered, so we are trying to make sure that the boys can still do all of the fun scouting activities. We have a roster of 40+ boys and fewer than 12 adult volunteers! There will be an emergency meeting at Dixon on October 5th. This will be an adult only meeting. Times will be announced soon. Remember there are great number of small tasks that would help ease the burden. You do not have to make a large commitment, every little bit helps. The boys suffer when so few are trying to do so much! 9/10/2010: Welcome back to another great year! We kick things off this weekend with the Webelos Jam-O-Ree. This is an opportunity for the 4th and 5th grade boys to interact with area Boy Scouts while participating in fun activities like fire building, archery and first aid. That last one is not so much fun . . .
